VMG has completed the full repaint of a 42-metre sailing yacht, one of the largest projects carried out in the shipyard’s own paint booth to date.
The project involved a complete strip-down and repaint of the hull, superstructure and mast, using high-performance marine coatings selected for their durability in Mediterranean conditions. The work was carried out over several weeks, combining meticulous surface preparation with the finishing standards expected on a vessel of this scale.
Throughout the project, VMG’s team coordinated closely with the owner’s representatives to ensure every detail — from colour matching to final gloss finish — met the exact specifications required. The result is a finish that not only enhances the yacht’s appearance but also protects it for years of sailing ahead.
“A repaint of this size demands patience and precision in equal measure,” explained a member of VMG’s paint team. “Every layer, every detail, has to be right — there’s no room for shortcuts on a project like this.”
The yacht has since left the shipyard and returned to active sailing, with VMG’s paint booth now preparing for its next project.
