VMG has been awarded ISO 50001:2018 certification for energy management, reinforcing the shipyard’s long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable operations.
The certification recognises VMG’s systematic approach to monitoring, managing and reducing energy consumption across all areas of the shipyard — complementing its existing ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications and completing a comprehensive framework of compliance and best practice.
Achieving ISO 50001 involved a thorough audit of VMG’s energy use, followed by the implementation of measures designed to improve efficiency without impacting the quality or timeline of ongoing projects. The certification process was carried out in full alignment with the regulatory requirements of Classification Societies and Flag States that govern the shipyard’s daily operations.
